Classic haircuts in a barbershop

Among the main types of classic haircuts are the following:

Slick back

Slick back hairstyle first appeared in the 20s of the last century. It is characterized simply: "everything back". At that time it was important to have a hairstyle that would not spoil when wearing a hat (it was a symbol of status and an indicator of class at the beginning of the century). Since then, it has become an eternal classic.

Straight hair is best suited for this haircut - unfortunately, the more curly it is, the more difficult it will be to comb it back correctly.

Slicked back hair is elegant and expressive and at the same time quite restrained. It works really well. The hairstyle is ideal for those who have elongated, oval faces.

Side part

Particularly popular in the 1920s-1940s and again in the 1960s, this style has been revived in the last decade as an easier to achieve alternative to the previous haircut. Literally - "part to the side", or the parting familiar to everyone since childhood. Side part has every chance to be the most versatile and iconic classic hairstyle of all time. Its main advantage is that it can look as mature or youthful as you want it to. It's all about how to approach your "parting". It can be a uniform length on all sides, or a smooth transition from shorter length on the sides and nape to long curls on top. For the sake of styling and emphasis, you can shave the parting separately, and it will still be a classic - there are no restrictions, it's just your imagination. And do not forget about styling, as it will emphasize your style and give texture. However, you should be careful not to overdo it. The styling product depends on the thickness of the hair: those with thicker hair should try a paste, while matte clay is best for thinner and less thick hair.

The haircut is quite versatile and will suit most hair types and face shapes. Whether you have a rectangle, rhombus, square or round face shape, side part is a always a good idea.

Pompadour

There is probably no more classic haircut than this one. Pompadour appeared in the 18th century in France, where it gained popularity among both men and women.

The pompadour is marked by massive top parts of hair that are combed up and away from the face (contrasting with noticeably shorter sides). With a hundred years of history, this style has been revived thanks to the stars who chose it. Elvis Presley and the whole "Rockabilly" culture 70 years ago, or Justin Timberlake today, and many more public figures chose this haircut to be irresistible regardless of the date on the calendar. Men with oval, triangular and round face shapes are definitely recommended to try pompadour, because the style complements and reveals the proportions of the face they have.

Pompadour is suitable for most, but requires a certain degree of hair density so that the hairstyle can maintain itself once created. However, to become its happy owner, you will need to grow the front part well, trimming the back and sides from time to time. However, the wait is worth it, trust us.

Buzz cut

A simple and clear alternative to the elongated options - a haircut with the machine, or «to zero». The length of the hair is the same on all parts of the head.

Popular among policemen and military personnel, the haircut gradually evolved into a style that could be easily repeated for any occasion. Especially in the 1980s, streetwear fans began to incorporate this look into their everyday aesthetic. Stark lines, usually associated with strict discipline, contrasted with colorful clothing and outfits, turning a modest haircut into an act of rebellion and individuality.

More minimalist than any, the buzz cut has remained stylish for decades because it ensures that your face is the center of attention. The haircut tends to look better on men with square or oval face shapes, as the dimensions of these shapes can tolerate little or no length. Another significant plus: it requires almost no maintenance, which makes it absolutely hassle-free.

What to choose is your choice. We at Mr.Colt are always happy to suggest and implement all your wishes. Welcome!
